In our first group meeting I worked with 6 other people to discuss our film opening project. Cristina talked about doing a coming of age genre for her project she wants to represent the movie "waves" and is getting a dj set as a prop, it is going to take place by the beach and the character wants to get out there more and be more known. The beach in the background of the car is called beach place in fort laudurdale. I think her idea is a very good idea the movie waves was a big hit and a lot of people enjoyed it and I think she will do good if she mimics some of the elements.
Benjamin wants to do a thriller where a man is walking in the park and there is a phone ringing he also wanted to do social realism but is short on ideas for that genre.
Noah at first wanted to do thriller but he decided on drama he wants to start with the main idea of a teen growing up in a bad environment making him a bad kid, he wants it to first opens with the kid smoking, showing that he is a bad character at the start. He was not sure how to film that to make it look realistic but we told him to use an already used cigarette, pretend to take it out of his mouth and throw it away on the ground.
Sebastian wants to do a pycho drama genre, he wants to use a lot of lighting techniques to get his message across. He want to show his character is struggling alot, wants to use darker lighting, blue purple black, blue for sadness.
The next group member is doing thriller but leaning more towards sci fi, a character struggling a character wants to make glasses to look into the future. but it fails causing him to get hurt.
Clara wants to do an action opening where someone is captured she wants to include flashbacks, it will take place in a garage and there will be a driving a car "12 hours ago"before the capturing happened but won't be shown in the film opening.
My feedback: I got told my idea was a good idea however it may be too short so find ways to make it longer more scenes, from this I decided I should film the girl character getting out of cheer practice showing a quick scene of a cool stunt, before getting in the car and there is immediately a mood shift in the air. I was also told the credits should be in the outside of the car to create a cool look.
